According to Yinka Oladoyinbo of Tribune:

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has officially flagged off his campaign with a pledge to make free health, free education and gainful employment his priority if elected as the governor of the state.

The former Minister of Housing and Urban Development also said the industrialisation of the state would be part of the major thrust of his government.

He said this in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state while addressing a crowd of his supporters that had gathered for the flag-off.

He said he had developed a 12-point agenda capable of eradicating the poverty of the people, saying that the resources available to government were enough to banish poverty from the lives of the people.

According to him, the resources available to the present administration in the state were more than all the revenues the state had since its creation in 1976 to 2003.

“In July last year alone, the state got from the Federation account a total of N9 billion, yet what do we have to show for it?”

“It is clear to all and sundry that there have been no corresponding level of development to match our ever-increasing resources in the last three years, hence, the clamour for change,” he noted.

He, promised that the administration to be formed by the LP would be one with real development as its fulcrum.

He’s been a minister, and what do Ondo people still have to show for it. Please its all promises, we all lived in that Ondo town. You can gba sibe!! or whatever slogan is used – they get there and you can’t talk to them anymore. Yes, Naija is always yearning for a change and how many have you seen. its a pattern , they get there promising heaven and earth and yet a big Nothing.
It s a shame really, that no standard prevails!!

It the title, from the little people do that is how you will know what they will do with a lot – Name it, what has he done for Ondo people?

To Seye: Was Mimiko nominated as Minister to just serve the Ondos? Was that the purpose of his appointment?

If you truly live in Ondo town, take a trip to the main market area, and look carefully around. If you can’t see anything, that’s fine, make sure you file way what you see in your memory because that area will totally change within the next 24 months.

Mimiko was Minister for less than 24 months, and he has a lot to show for it. How about Agagu who was Minister for 4 years, what were his achievements. Do you know Agagu was indicted for embezzling some $ 2billion while at Ministry of aviation? Do you know this, Seye?

The red cloth he’s always having around his neck during campaigns has caught my attention. What is it for, anyway?
The more you look, the less you see.
Let’s put our trust only in God.

    From Admin:

    Good observation.

The cloth you made reference to around Dr Mimiko is nothing but a scarf in the colors of the Labor Party. He and several of his aides and general members of LP always adorn the scarf on their necks while campaigning. Dr Mimiko is not someone that pay observance or reverence to occultic matters.
