He added that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was able to detect about 150,000 case, which were irregular in the state.

But investigations by The Guardian yesterday revealed that despite the discovery by INEC of such multiple registrations, there were a lot which the commission could not void and were used to allegedly rig the gubernatorial elections in the state.

Before the polls, INEC reassured that machine would be used and that no rigging would be allowed. Also, many people believed then that the system put in place by INEC would prevent rigging because once a card was used, it would be rejected immediately if anybody attempted to use it again.

“The laudable aspect of the system is that it records accurately the votes and make it transparent so that the electoral will of the people through voting is accurately represented,” INEC added.

Explaining further on the electronic process, the commission said the system compiles the voters’ data, confirm the identity of the voters and verify the authenticity of the voters’ card, saying that it also enhanced easy transmission of results immediately after balloting.

Ahmadu, in his reaction yesterday, said that INEC has done the best it could do to make the exercise a huge success.

According to him, “the exercise is perfect but not 100 per cent perfect. We have done our own best to ensure that the election is free and fair, and devoid of rigging.”

He added that the discovery of multiple registrations in the state would have been reported to the INEC office in Akure by the party’s agents so that they could be cancelled.

Revelations galore – just the beginning as there would be more to come to name and shame the so called Nigerian Leaders who are nothing but low life do or die election riggers. So INEC is admitting to multiple registration among other confessions? What beats me is that in spite of their shameful conduct they still try to take solace in concluding that their rotten teeth does not need treatment talk less of pulling it out! Who is fooling who? Ondo state is not a state of uneducated illiterates and you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. Accept your blunders, do the right thing, let justice prevail – MIMIKO NI ONDO STATE DIBO FUN. IROKO YI JO GBA SIBE. you are a winner.
