The governor, added the Commissioner also pressurized the federal government to provide a treatment plant to the Dam, adding that the government also responded by committing the sum of N7.2 billion for the project which he said has a targeted date of completion for this year. According to him, the government of Ondo considered the necessity for transfer and distribution of water from the Dam to the state capital and mainly Ondo Central Senatorial District to maximize the huge amount so far committed by the Federal Government on the Dam. It was against this background, said the commissioner that the Government voted N14.4 billion for the water transfer and distribution project, stating that it had only released the sum of N3.8 billion before the EFCC started to make issue out of it based on prompting by those in the opposition camp in the state.
