No Congratulatory Adverts for Mimiko on Birthday
As Dr. Olusegun Mimiko turns 55 on October 3, he has appealed to those desiring to place congratulatory adverts in newspapers and on the radio and television to use funds meant for such purposes to help the less-privileged in the society.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Kolawole Olabisi, the governor urged well-wishers to also pray for him and his family over the task of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Olabisi quoted the governor as urging “colleagues, well-wishers as well as government officials in ministries, departments and agencies of government to use the occasion to remember us in their prayers rather than placing congratulatory messages.”

His Excellency is on the right track again as a man of God. We shall all join hearts and voices in praying for him in Jesus name. Charitable deeds in the name of Mr Governor will be more tasteful and rewarding than waste; and competing to prove who needs the governor most!
Let us all borrow a leaf from the governor’s book and remember the poor when we indulge in unnecessary squanderings. My people are really suffering and I feel their pain anyday I look in their faces and look around me.
MAY THE GOOD LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS, GUIDE AND GUARD OUR IROKO. LONG MAY YOU LIVE, IN GOOD HEALTH AND HONOUR AND GLORY IN JESUS NAME (AMEN).
Happy Birthday to a Godly Beloved Governor of a special Sunshine State. May the good Lord bless and guide and guard you all the days of your life. Many Happy returns for there is no mountain high enough to stand before Zerubabel. God bless
Dear Governor Mimiko, no weapon fashioned against you will ever prosper, for you are destined for greatness and you will overcome all enemy arrows in Jesus name for these would be returned back to sender. No suicide mission sent to you will succeed and by the grace of God, all people with evil intents towards you or yours or even Ondo State at large will succumb to the fire of the living God that we serve.
I just want to reiterate again in this month of October 2009 that we the people believe in you and in your ability to turn things around for the better in Ondo State. May God give all those who are so impatient and full of ,mischief; the patience to wait and see what Ondo State will become in the near future.
Iroko yi joooooooo. The Lord is your Shepherd. Thank you for remembering the youths, many of whom you have given a chance to earn a living (for starters). Please continue to put the ordinary people of Ondo State FIRST in your mind as you have always done.
Peace my people.
