THE House of Representatives Committee on Power, which probed the Federal Government’s handling of the sector between 1999 and 2007, has recommended the interrogation of former and serving public officials by the country’s anti-graft agencies.

Among those the panel asked the House to recommend to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation are former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu; the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The committee believes that the intervention of the EFCC in the matter would enable the indicted officials and institutions to account for their roles in the award and execution of multi-billion naira contracts for the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPPs).

The panel, headed by Ndudu Godwin Elumelu, also recommended the redeployment of the Minister of State for Energy, Hajia Fatima Balarabe Ibrahim.

Agagu, a former Minister of Power and Steel, allegedly awarded contracts to non-existing firms. The panel said that Agagu’s explanation on the issue was unsatisfactory.

The panel said that the indicted persons, if found guilty, should be barred from holding any public office in the future.

The 10-volume report submitted by the Elumelu committee said Ibrahim should be redeployed from the ministry to another place where she might be better fitted. Also, the committee proposed a mass purge in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to enhance its performance. All the projects should be reviewed, the panel stated.

The report said: “The committee found out that during the tenure of Dr. Olusegun Agagu as Minister of Power and Steel, numerous contracts were awarded. Relying on a letter from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) at the time of Agagu’s tenure as minister, in 2002, the committee found out that some unregistered companies were awarded huge contracts. In his testimony, he said that it was not his duty to verify the legal status of companies that were awarded contracts by the Federal Ministry of Power and Steel under his watch. Consequently, there is a prima facie evidence that Agagu awarded contracts without due process. Up till the time of this report, all efforts to get the owners of the companies to appear in person before the committee proved abortive. Rather, the committee received some documents containing reports that the companies were registered. The true identifies of the owners remained unresolved.”

“In view of the huge amounts involved, the committee recommends that EFCC and ICPC should investigate the allegations with a view to prosecuting any one found culpable.”

One thing i can’t still understand is the way the people we all rely on in making our system work toys with it. Nigeria has all the processes and the required law in place to deal with and stop those who are making the progress of the country impossible. But because they themselves are equally currupt and knowing that one day they will be exposed as well, they refused to enforce due process and the law so as to secure safety nets for themselves in the future. Since OBJ left the government, how many different stories of mismanagement funds have we heard and what happen afterwards? Before the 2007 election, Agagu was indicted for $3.5 million embezzlement and fraud by an administrative panel headed by Justice Obiora Nwazota, enquiry set up on Nigerian Airways by the federal government which indictment had been accepted and published in the federal government’s Gazette and in national newspapers. But still, he was allowed to contest the election as against the constitution. Check this site for confirmation http://www.orjikalu.com/pressdetail.php?start=142
If truly these people wants Nigeria to rid the institutions for curruption, they should make sure that Agagu does not escape this time and should be allowed to face the law and the consequence of his crime for others like him to learn.

Well morning shows the day and all hidden lies will be exposed to the glory of God. Nevertheless for all that will uphold the truth in Ondo State, this is stating the obvious.

    Who is fooling who?
Shame on the so called the leaders playing with the lives of the innocent poor people of Nigeria. To get rid of corruption in our society is simple and possible, but who is ready apart from the small minority whose efforts are always frustrated and intimidated by the evil minded untouchable demons who fixes things to suit their appetites for greed. How can a corrupt institution like the EFCC bring to justice the corrupt public officers? No way! Until when corrupt free minded people occupies the key posts to sanitize our society and put these instruments of Satan under the law but not on top of it, Nigeria has no chance. For those whose contributions are nothing but to put everlasting tears on the faces of the poor, downgrade Nigeria’s reputation and also to frustrate the efforts of those who are working hard to change things for better, I pray for God’s quick intervention to send thunder to hush all your evil plans and teach you one or two painful lessons and die slowly. Brothers and Sisters below is the latest news on how corrupt EFCC is, please read:-

    By John Ameh, Abuja
Tuesday, October 14, 2008. The Punch.

Files on ex-governors missing, says EFCC.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mrs. Faraday Waziri, on Monday said that the former state governors investigated by the commission were still walking about freely because files on their alleged misdeeds were either “missing or distorted.”
Waziri, who spoke at a national round table on “Millennium Development Goals and Challenges of Anti-Corruption, “organised by the House of Representatives Faculty Board of Initiatives in Abuja, also said the commission had no evidence against a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Her predecessor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, had once told the Senate in 2007 that the EFCC had concluded investigations into the corrupt activities of about 31 former and serving governors.
Only a few of the former governors – Chief James Ibori (Delta), Chief Orji Kalu (Abia), Chief Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu), Mr. Ayo Fayose (Ekiti), Chief Joshua Dariye (Plateau), Mr. Jolly Nyame (Taraba), Alhaji Saminu Turaki (Jigawa), Mr. Boni Haruna (Adamawa), have since been arraigned by the anti-graft agency.
But at the rountable, Waziri stunned the audience that included the Speaker of the House, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, lawmakers and some governors, when she said, “I don’t have 31 files ( on the former governors); there is no prima-facie case against them.
“It is trite law that we must hear all sides, but here we have distorted files and statements.”
She said that the commission’s predicament was worsened by the unwillingness of people to assist it with vital proof that would have hastened the effort to bring the former governors to justice.
Waziri cited one major bottleneck as the uncooperative attitude of witnesses who refuse to appear in court and testify against those under the EFCC’s watch.
The EFCC chairman also said that she neither met any petition against Obasanjo when she assumed office nor had any been sent to her since she became the head of the commission early this year.
“I am working on what I have found; I have not received any petition against Obasanjo and there is no case file there (at the EFCC’s office),” she stated.
But the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, disagreed with Waziri when it pointed out that she was merely making excuses.
The CNPP’s representative at the roundtable, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, drew her attention to three petitions the conference sent to the EFCC calling for the probe of Obasanjo’s administration.
Okechukwu said, “We sent petitions to the EFCC, Madam; they are there before you.
“The EFCC didn’t do anything about those petitions. How can you be talking about fighting corruption when you have consistently ignored the petitions we sent to your commission calling for the probe of Obasanjo’s tenure?”
Instead of admitting or denying the claim, Waziri rather spoke elaborately on the agency’s new anti-corruption “proactive” style, which she said was to prevent an act of corruption before it took place.
She explained that ex-public officers had learnt smarter ideas of making the agency’s prosecution and recovery of stolen money more difficult.
She stated that prevention and prosecution of established cases would go hand-in-hand, contrary to the public perception that the EFCC under her, was not interested in arresting and prosecuting suspects.
Waziri defended the agency’s desire to have the Nigerian Civil Forfeiture bill passed by the National Assembly to empower the agency to confiscate the assets of public officers protected by immunity even while in office.
She told the gathering that the commission was already turning its searchlight on state and local governments as a mark of its concern over how the billions of naira allocated monthly to them from the Federation Account were utilised.
She said, “Enough is enough; we are also communicating the MDAs (ministries, departments and agencies) to provide us with the list of companies they have awarded contracts.
“We are checking whether the companies are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. We want to know so that if there is a problem with a particular contract, we can begin to ask the right questions immediately.
“We hope that together, we will win the war against corruption.”
Bankole, in his remarks, observed that the collapse of basic infrastructure in the country was a testimony to the fact that the funds appropriated over the years to revive them were “diverted into private pockets or stolen.”
The speaker noted that the revelations that came out of the probe of the power sector by the House and the ongoing investigations of the oil sector had told the story of how the country had been run aground.
He, therefore, urged the Presidency to summon the courage to implement the reports on the various probes by the House when debated and passed over to it.
Bankole also appealed to Nigerians to ask questions on the status of unspent funds held by states and local governments.
He said, “Nigeria is facing monumental corruption; this year, we recovered about N450bn unspent funds at the Federal level.
“The question to ask is why have we not had cases of unspent funds from the states and local governments, especially when the two collect about 48 per cent of our allocations?
“If the money appropriated to the power sector had been utilised, we would have gone a long way in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.”

As EFCC is not independent enough to use its power to investigate and prosecute the senior boys of the nation with glaring corruption, they have now decided to flex their muscles on ordinary Nigerians. Instead to seriously engage themselves looking for the missing and distorted files as they have claimed to deal with the issues of OBJ and the 31 ex governors which have caused some controversies recently, they preferred to put that aside (or should we call it a write off program for these big boys) and empower the commission to investigate and prosecute persons living beyond their incomes. Well, if you can’t catch the big fish at least the small ones are easy targets. If corruption cannot be dealt with at the top level, all the efforts at the lower level are fruitless. For those who may be interested in another latest news about our proud EFCC please this:-

EFCC seeks to probe people ‘living above their means’
From Sufuyan Ojeifo in Abuja, 10.20.2008

A proposed amendment to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Act 2006 will empower the commission to investigate and prosecute persons living beyond their incomes.
This is one of the issues to be discussed at the meeting of the commission and the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes rescheduled for Wednesday.
EFCC Chairman Farida Waziri and her team are expected to discuss with the committee how they want the amendment fine-tuned and incorporated in the bill that will be presented to the National Assembly soon.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Sola Akinyede, said yesterday that Waziri and her team had been asked to meet with the committee on Wednesday for “a robust interactive session” on EFCC 2007 audited report, which was submitted to the committee.
He stated that the proposed amendment is contained in the report, pointing out that “similar provision is in the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Act, only that the ICPC is not using its powers to the fullest. But the EFCC, in the report, did not specify how it wanted the amendment specified.”
According to him, “We have asked her to come with her team on Wednesday at 2 p.m. for a robust interactive session. We invited the ICPC leadership and we had an interactive session that lasted over three hours.”
Wednesday’s meeting is a follow-up to last week’s meeting at which Waziri told the Senate committee that she was not informed in the letter of invitation that she was coming to answer questions on the audited report.
She had used the occasion to raise the alarm that her detractors were still working to undercut her in her task of exposing corruption and its perpetrators in the country.
She had clarified media reports that credited her to have said that case files of some former executive office holders were missing and that there was no case against some of them.
Waziri had declared at the meeting that she was working on the facts of the cases she met on ground in the commission and could therefore not manufacture evidence against former office executive office holders, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and 31 ex-governors said to have been investigated by her predecessor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
“I know that my detractors are still working to throw brickbats at me left, right and centre. That is why I have been very careful in talking to the press and that went on and I can’t tell you the stories that are emanating from this one similar statement even though I tried to make the correction, it is still there. It is so much that I am shielding Obasanjo; that I am shielding governors; that I went there to protect governors.”
But she had said: “As far as I know, I am doing what I can do on the facts of the cases I met on the ground. I cannot just manufacture evidence. This is a case of ‘prove beyond all reasonable doubt’.”

For the lovers of justice for Nigeria please read this interesting news. In my own opinion if immunity clause aids current public serving officers in their corrupt activities, why having it then, as this will always make it difficult to enforce the law. It is time for ”we’’ the poor masses (victims) to say enough is enough with a simple solution by voting the people of known good characters and with fear of God into public offices. Otherwise, we will continue to have leaders that will make tough law to rid corruption and another to neutralize it. President Musa Yar’Adua please encapsulates the RULE OF LAW with compulsory ENFORCEMENT. I believe there are many like Dr. Mimiko in all the corners of Nigeria. Let us give them the chance to move Nigeria forward.
EFCC boss faults Ribadu’s anti-graft war
    Written by Emmanuel Aziken
    Thursday, 23 October 2008
Says no evidence he probed Obasanjo, *Beams searchlight on banks

CHAIRMAN of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri, yesterday accused her predecessor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, of fighting a bogus anti-corruption war which, according to her, was sometimes based on deceit, and canvassed the removal of the constitutional immunity of governors.
CHAIRMAN of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri,
Reviewing the commission’s 2007 annual report at the Senate, Mrs. Waziri cited the example of a newly elected governor who, she said, had just bought a N1 billion mansion in Abuja as evidence of the corruption still rampant in governance. She also disclaimed any evidence of Ribadu’s investigation and acquittal of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying there was no evidence of any such investigation at the Commission.
Canvassing the establishment of special courts to expedite corruption cases, Mrs. Waziri, flanked by senior officials of the commission at the more than two-hour hearing, promised that the Commission would be taking the anti-corruption battle to the next stage by focussing on the banking industry which she said was riddled with corruption.
She pleaded for amendments to the laws to address lopsided ownership of the banks, and confirmed the transfer out of the commission loyalists of Ribadu who she accused of “thorough disloyalty, leaking the commission’s reports to the press.
Yesterday’s hearing was presided over by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Sola Akinyede. The vice-chairman, Senator Dahiru Kuta, Senators Anthony Agbo, Sulieman Nazif, Ahmed Sani Yerima, Satty Gogwin were also in attendance.

    Waziri faults Ribadu

Her words: “It is curious that Nuhu Ribadu made this statement (that 31 governors were indicted for corruption.) He told the whole world in September 2006 that he had concluded investigation on 31 serving governors but for their immunity.
But in May 2007, these governors lost their immunity. Nuhu was in office, he did not do anything up to when he left office in February 2008. It does not take a mathematician or professor to put two plus two together and get four. If you get three or five, then something must be wrong.
“What went wrong that he could not prosecute? There are no missing case files whatsoever. There are no stolen case files and there are no missing case files in the EFCC. But what I found is what I am working on. I said we have to build a case file that can stand the test of time anywhere in the world.
“When you get to court, it is not about sentiments; it is “prove beyond reasonable doubt” and I am working on the case files I inherited. It might interest you to note that case files were not even handed over to me. I did not meet Nuhu Ribadu there. I sent for Lamorde on two occasions because case files were many and we assigned new IPOs to take over from each IPO. Nothing has been foreclosed. All Nigerians can do is to bring forth evidence about any particular person.”
    Obasanjo not probed by EFCC

On former President Obasanjo who she said Ribadu claimed to have investigated and acquitted, Mrs. Waziri told the Senate Committee that there was no case file to indicate such investigation.
“I was asked about the former president.
I said I did not receive any petition against him. I recall just like any other Nigerian that there were petitions that Ribadu received. I do not know what happened and I also know that he even wroteclearing President Obasanjo. I never received any petition.
I will be making history if I went there and got ready-made 31 case files, I would have made history to arraign immediately to prove to them that I am not there to deter the war on corruption,” she said.
Canvassing the removal of the immunity clause, she said it would help instill discipline among the governors even as she lamented the recent purchase of a N1 billion mansion in Abuja by a first term governor. She, however, did not give any clue as to the identity of the governor.

Seeks removal of immunity for Govs

“I don’t think that we need the immunity clause. I don’t think that we need that clause, because what is happening is our leaders, people that the people of this country queued in the rain and the sun to vote them and they promised and when they get there, they totally forget. It is against even God’s injunction for this to be happening,” she said.
“Immunity makes people to be careless and reckless. I tell you, somebody just bought a house, one billion naira worth of a house in Abuja and he has just been made a governor.”
Asked by the Committee chairman, Senator Akinyede, whether the immunity clause forbade her from investigating governors engaging in corruption, she said: “Of course, the law allows us to investigate. In fact we are doing that, we can compile our case file and anytime the governor comes to our notice we do what we call discreet investigation and update the case file until he is available.
The governor can be investigated and it does not violate his immunity at all.”
She lamented that the spate of corruption was across the board, noting that it was especially prevalent in the local government level.

    Laments corruption in LGs

“The local government chairman that came into office and had nothing and then two months later bought a jeep, he bought a Landcruiser, demolished his shanty and in fact, acquired the poor villagers’ homes to add to his parcels of land, the villagers do not know that it is their money, tax payers money.
They hero-worship him, they clap for him, they do not know, they feel that that office comes with that package.
“That is why they are at the gate of his house. When their daughters are getting married they bring invitations to his house, ‘grace the occasion for me.’ The man is a thief, stealing all your money and you say that he should grace your occasion and out of the stolen money which is yours, he gives you ten thousand and they go on their kneels praying that God should replenish where it came from,” she said drawing laughter from Committee members.
Mrs. Waziri, nevertheless, noted special constraints against the commission in its prosecution of indicted persons and notably the recourse to delay by suspects and their legal teams.
She said the commission was set to recruit senior advocates into its prosecution team to match the leverage and seniority employed by indicted politicians in stalling their cases.
Asked by Senator Kuta whether she was against the establishment of special courts for the agency, she said: “Thank you, God bless you. That is what I am praying for. That is what Ghana did and the people argue that it is unconstitutional, that it is against this and that.
But I don’t agree. You see, if you have a problem, you have to address it. Corruption has retarded this country, has caused so much pain for this country that is God’s gift and why can’t we, even if it means amending the Constitution to have a special court.

Wants special courts to prosecute corruption cases

“I believe that the passage of (a bill) on special courts together with assets forfeiture we will eradicate corruption in Nigeria, together with the mindset of Nigerian people who will get up and say that enough is enough,” she said.
On the reported transfer of officers just after she assumed office, she said: “When I got there, some officers who were thoroughly disloyal were redeployed and I believe I gave them a chance because you know the feeling that how dare she go to head the EFCC, that place was created and meant for only one person, how dare she go there?
“I gave them the opportunity but when it became an issue of disloyalty in a sensitive organisation like that,” she said as she noted the publication in a national newspaper of investigations into alleged corruption petitions against Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State.

    Targets banks

Vowing to take the anti-corruption battle next to the banks, the EFCC boss said: “We know and I know what goes on in the banks. I even made a pronouncement that my next focus will be the banks because a lot is going on in the banks and they are now reaching out, opening branches.
We have our intelligence about what goes on there and we are going to focus on these banks very soon. We are doing certain cases.
That is why we have not gone in there. Normally, we are supposed to have information about what goes on in the banks, about large movements of funds at any given time, which would enable us to take proactive actions.
“I am aware about money laundering through that system because our monies are not dropping from the sky. They drop through an institution called bank. Federal Government funds move from the Central Bank to the commercial banks and somebody writes the cheques; somebody countersigns the cheques; somebody draws money from there and there is collusion. That is what is going on there.’’
Mr. Bayo Okuarau, Head of the National Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), a unit in the commission added: “The ownership structure of these banks, it is within your jurisdiction to address it. It is still lopsided and a lot of room for corruption.
There is equally need to regulate the salaries and loan structure of CEOs of banks in the country, that is still very open. There is equally need to review the products and services by banks, every day there is one kind of service or product out there and many of them just designed to deceive people. So, I will advise we look at that too.”
Senator Akinyede lauded Mrs. Waziri on her efforts, promising the Committee’s cooperation to her in her duties.
Responding to the commendation of the Committee, Mrs. Waziri pleaded with the Committee to help her in winning over the public who, according to her, may have become biased based on media reports of activities in the agency.
“I thank you and may you continue to be members of this Committee and together we will wage war on corruption in this country, corruption is evil, we will have a better country, a country that we can bequeath to our children and generations yet unborn.”

Reading through the write up above I have mixed feelings about this Waziri woman and her mission. First I believe that her berating Nuhu Ribadu and faulting him so glaringly is an attempt to cover up the fact that she is not ready to continue with the prosecution of OBJ, Agagu and co for obvious reasons. This makes her no better than the corrupt people she is after. She is also trying to cover up her first attempt to “drop” the ObJ et al prosecution when she tried to hide under the cover of the missing files. ~When this was exposed (and this she does not like), she now went to level 2 excuse that there was no case on ground as declared by Ribadu. Ribadu is not dead and he should be man enough to debunk these statements, so we justice craving people of Nigeria await his reaction to Waziri. Also Waziri should understand that the people she called “Ribadu Supporters, leaking secrets” are actually doing the right thing for checks and balances are needed in every aspect of government.

Now I support Waziri in her call for removal of diplomatic immunity for corrupt officials, and this we have mentioned in the past, even on this website. I support intense scrutiny of new politicians and office holders and their unexplainable sudden assets. But I do not support her attempting to divert attention from the cases already on ground. We want OBJ, Agagu and all others prosecuted. We want a concclusion to Ehinderogate, Ettehgate, Iborigate and what have you. Nigerians are no fools and not all Nigerians support corruption. Actually we keep on praying for more people to shun corruption and join the justice fighters and back all anti corruption crusade. We need to have a better Nigeria, a more respectable society, and we want our image abroad to change. This surely is not too much to ask for!

Your Excellency, Governor ~Elect Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko, I know you are following all these with interest and I know you will prove beyond reasonable doubt that some politicians are not there just for the taking but for the people and good Governance. God will empower, sheild and support you as you commence your governance of Ondo State soon, for you have won your case and proven your cause beyond reasonable doubt at the petition stage where the whole world read or saw you prove the massive riggings of Agagu and PDP in Ondo State. This was done openly, forthrightly, intelligently and officially. Where was Agagu and his town criers when this was going on? Why did they not raise any objections then? Why were they praising Nabaruma even up to a day before the petition result? Why did Agagu categorically state that he would abide by the Nabaruma result? Why couldnt Agagu prove any case to his favour at the election? Why didnt he fault the Adrian Forty technical analysis then? Where did Michael Jackson, Mother Theresa and all those false names come to vote in Ondo State? Why couldnt Agagu explain these? Why did he present false professors who openly admitted they were fake and said their testimonies should not be relied upon? Did Mimiko present these people for PDP? Why was the police unable to show one single witness in spite of their noise? Why was INEC thoroughly discredited? Oh I could go on asking a thousand and more whys. The truth is very clear. I wonder what sort of brains any gullible idiot who would come out to start decrying Nabaruma result and want to call Mimiko names have or think the people reading or listening to their lies have. Only a fool would see all others as fools as only a thief will believe every other person is a thief.

We are entering a new phase in Nigeria. We will query and search for the truth as the Grail Message states. We will assist with the emancipation of the poor and oppresed and press on for an egaliterian society in Ondo State and Nigeria. One day soon, only the evil shameless corrupt people will be in the minority in Nigeria and to this I say a big AMEN. Peace :)

This should sound soothing to the ears of justice and anti corruption fighters:

    Finally, EFCC probes Obasanjo

    FRIDAY OLOKOR, COSMAS EKPUNOBI, Abuja

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday disclosed that it would commence investigation of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo today.

Already, a team of the commission’s investigators are to be mandated to being the exercise.

Spokesperson of the EFCC, Mr. Femi Babfemi give the assurance when a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) led by Mr. Debo Adeniran protested to the commission’s zonal office in Ikoyi, Lagos where they resubmitted a petition for a probe and prosecution of Obasanjo.

Babafemi assured the group that the Executive chairman of EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri would leave no stone unturned to rid the nation of corrupt leaders.

“We are very much with you. The Executive chairman of EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri has mandated us to receive your petition on her behalf and we can assure you that immediately she receives it, operations on the investigation of Obasanjo will commence in the next 24 Hours,” he stated.

The EFCC chairman, according to him, has always made it clear that the crusade against graft is a fight which must be won.

While informing the protesters that the EFCC is very much in support of their agitation for a graft-free society, he said that the anti-corruption regulation campaign would soon be launched in Abuja in a few weeks time.

Receiving the petition on behalf of its chairman, EFCCs Head of Operations in Lagos, Mr. Zubeine Muazu appreciated the efforts of CACOL and assured that justice is done to ensure that every person indicted does not escape punishment.

Zubeiru later handed over the petition to Mr. Umar Sanda, EFCC’s former Head of General Investigations, who has now heads its e-governance unit.

Sanda who received the earlier petition last year responded to allegations by Mr. Debo Adeniran that about one year after submitting the petition seeking for the prosecution of Obasanjo, the EFCC has been shielding him from facing the music.

Said he; “it is one thing for us to have received the petition but it is another thing to act on it. I assure you that the chairman will begin to act on it immediately she receives it. Things will begin to unfold in the next few days”.

Before their reception by officials of the EFCC who defied the rain, Adeniran had accused the commission of collaborating with the government of President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua to shield Obasanjo from prosecution.

“We have been able to establish a Prima facie case against Obasanjo. It is the duty of the EFCC to investigate that”, he sated.

Nigerians, he threatened will move against the commission if it refuses to act fast on the prosecution of Obasanjo.

Meanwhile, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri yesterday asked the Senate to quickly expunge the controversial immunity clause in the 1999 constitution to enable the agency prosecute any serving state governor that may be indicted of corruption.

The EFCC boss at a stormy session with the senate committee on Drugs and financial crimes however said that the agency has decided to shift its search light on the activities of the chief executives of banks following the alleged shady deals in the financial institution.

Already the agency has strengthened its Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) to keep close watch on the banks chief executive in line with the renewed posture of the commission to sanitize the industry

Mrs. Waziri who insisted on the establishment of special court to try indicted corrupt persons told the stunned audience that some serving state chief executive have been hiding under the immunity clause to plunder the treasury of their states.

The agency, was prepared to launch full scale offensive against chief executives of banks and other private persons in a renewed bid to sanitize the banking sector

She insisted that the immunity clause was un necessary saying “immunity makes people to be careless and reckless.”

“What is happening to the country is because of our leadersThe people of this county queue in the rain and the sun to vote them and they promise when they get there they totally forget. It is against even God’s injunction for this to be happening 48 years after independence.

“Just take a trip to the local areas and see. Not a foot path, not even water. People will go and drill a hole and wait there and water gather and they are drinking worm infested water and when they are sick there are no clinics, no drugs.

“The immunity (Clause) makes people to be careless and reckless. I tell you, somebody just bought a house worth N1billion in Abuja and he has just been made a governor.”

“The first job of law enforcement any where in the World is prevention of crime.

“In preventing crime, you can take steps, you can map out strategies and on suspicion that a criminal offence is committed or about to be committed you can go in there. There is a section in the EFCC Act that allows you to go in there on suspicion that an economic crime is being committed.

The EFCC boss at the meeting yesterday urged the senate to give accelerated passage to the bill seeking to amend its existing law to enable it expand its scope to include among others, powers to seize assets belonging to suspects before their conviction in court.

It is also seeking the establishment of a special economic and financial crimes court and a further amendment empowering it to continue prosecution of suspects who are challenging the jurisdiction of the court where they are charged until the dispensation of such petitions.

Waziri said the Nigeria Finance Intelligence Unit (NFIU) in the EFCC has been strengthened to keep close eye on the activities of chief executives and top officials of banks to ensure accountability and strict adherence to operational regulations in the sector.

She said the commission has started receiving useful information from the unit, which will enhance its surveillance on the bank officials who are suspected to be living above their means through dubious insider dealing in banks.

In her words “my next focus will be in banks. We have strengthened our Nigeria Finance Intelligence Unit (NFIU) to keep close eye on the activities on the chief executives and directors of banks. We know how much they earn and we know their life styles and what they are doing”.

Stating that the EFCC has resolved to take the war against financial crimes to the people, Waziri lamented that some politicians and counsels to accused persons exploit some loops holes in the law to escape prosecution but assured that the commission under her is working out strategies including amendment to the laws to check the problem.

She urged the National Assembly to ensure that the immunity clause is removed from the constitution, if the fight against corruption and financial crime will be won, saying retaining the clause in the constitution is encouraging financial indiscipline and recklessness in the system. She said serving state governors enjoying constitutional immunity engage in sharp practices and cover their tracts before leaving office.

I read the write up in the papers , I belief this is nothing more than a `kangaroo` investigation and I`m therefore suspicious. I have a feeling this will not go anywhere.
By the way, it appears as if , to this Waziri woman, all Nigeria `rogues` are located in the south and the Northern people appear `Saints`. Just my observation though, I stand corrected if facts point otherwise.

  9. omotayloron 24 Oct 2008 at 7:17 am

Thanks Mr Fred for the input. Well isnt it high time for the South to be vigilant, come together and work together to avoid the stigmatisation of the South to the favour of the highly corrupt North? We Southerners are our own worst enemies, ever since the days of Hubert Ogunde when he was forced to sing “Yoruba Ronu” talk less of the Awolowo saga. We Southerners have let ourselves down long enough. Anyway enough said for now.

The Waziri woman is up to some real challenges and will have no choice than to do what is right. Many people are so fed up and will not let matters rest now. Your suspicion is well founded and our alertness to the facts on ground is needed now more than ever.

    Peace :)

Ms omotaylor your wisdom will never stop flowing in Jesus name. You are a woman of talents and a blessing to your husband and the people. You will never die young. I have mixed feelings about the new EFCC Chairlady as well. Honestly, I don’t know which side or position Mrs Waziri is playing in this game. Her recent moves sounds ok to me but at the same time she also sound like somebody who knows what she is doing, very clever in defence and an expert in telling Nigerians what they like to hear. Mind you she could be a woman MARADONA. For people like them to say something is one thing but to mean it from the bottom of their hearts is another. What she is preaching at the moment is not new to Nigerians, we had heard it time without numbers but I still believe we have to give her the chance to carry out all she demanded and promised. This is her chance to prove herself a worthy, honest women leader and heroine or to join the failed leaders in the hall of SHAME. What I know is that whoever fails to fulfil his or her promise does not only betray man but also God and when the almighty starts to pay them the wages of their sins, they come in packages of colossus bonuses and interests. Look at what happened recently to the Abachas when they were linked with some foreign money discovered in a house, that mortification alone is enough as a torture. Are they enjoying their stolen money the way they should? I don’t think so. They will continue to face humiliation for the rest of their lives before the true justice in heaven.
Lets hope the EFCC Chairlady’s prayer for the removal of immunity clause is to enforce the law which she has claimed making it difficult to prosecute our omnipotent leaders is not another ‘‘catching shadow game’’ or not trying to waste our time and resources on already concluded decisions. And also I hope she was not put in her position to give these thieves who have been indicted already, the chance and time to leg it to abroad where their loots are being kept? God safe Nigeria, God safe Ondo State, God safe Mimiko the man that almighty refused OBJ, Agagu and PDP to annihilate. For those who have not yet discovered how clean Iroko, the Governor elect is, please digest this- OBJ said he Dr. Mimiko spattered the seat before leaving his ministerial office before the election without any prove. Who is the whole country chasing for corruption today? If Nigeria must be a corrupt free country, this is another chance for us. Obasanjo, Agagu and others must be brought to nothing but JUSTICE. For all of you who have genuinely and positively contributed on this site, God will continue to bless your homes, businesses and enrich you with more wisdom and good health. You may not know how immensely the impacts of your contributions for justice and most especially your unflinching supports for Dr. Mimiko and LP throughout this journey have given hope and new direction for democracy in our society. That shows you don’t have to be a politician before you can contribute in moving our fatherland forward. You have formed and led a modern and intelligent non-violent revolution, indeed to keep Nigeria together as one for others to follow suit. This has marked the beginning of a lasting change in Ondo State. By the grace of God the winds of fair and just will continue to blow and the rivers of good governance will also start to flow in abundant to all areas in Nigeria in Jesus name. To get rid of corruption in Nigeria, we must start from the apex of the pyramid. Brothers and Sisters, democracy must stay and work in Nigeria like in any other civilised country where we will all enjoy our God-given rich resources. Until justice becomes sacrosanct in our society, the struggle continues. November 10 and beyond, God is in control. 100% optimistic. Justice 4all.

  11. omotayloron 24 Oct 2008 at 12:00 pm

Dear Iroko Kekere (ti o ma dagba, ti ko si ni ye loruko Jesu), thanks a billion and a big AMEN to your well intended prayers. I know the wind of change is subtly blowing and guess what, not a single one of us on this website has planned anything that is being positively done towards democracy, justice, fairplay and anti corruption. God has on a daily basis guided our steps, thoughts and reasonings, and this God is doing and will continue to do effortlessly. First my unrelenting comments were borne out of frustration when our Governor Elect His Excellency was so so cheated and robbed of his mandate in April 2007. Anger soon turned to hope and fortitude after a resolve build. One guiding factor in this matter of course is the man IROKO MIMIKO himself. The more I delved into historical and political stories on him, the more I found him to be a man so clean and favoured by God. The more I rationalised on his vision for Ondo State, and the more i saw him in action, in pure humility, with a high sense of direction, with the ambition and stamina of a statesman, and with Godliness in all his ways, talks, actions, reactions etc, the more I saw Mimiko as a role model to many and a person to support to the utmost. Mimiko is a blessing to Ondo State and will yet prove this. Mimiko, like Obama did not just wake up one day and aspire to be governor; he was touched by God, called to duty like a Daniel to justice and a Moses to deliverance. I am not a respecter of man for the sake of it, I respect what a man or woman stands for. Hence I respect Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko, to the utmost. Dont care what anyone would have to say about this – LET THEM SAY, FOR OHUN TI O BA WUN ELENU NI KO FENU RE SO. I digress. Yes His Excellency Dr Mimiko like his biblical predecessors e.g. Moses, Joseph and Modecai has had to pass through a baptism of fire. Very hard to take and cope with. My oh my, would I have been able to take things quietly but with Godly resolve like he is doing? Well I am learning for I am being indirectly mentored by our man Mimiko, and I am changing. Mimiko will never be found wanting by God. He will pass the test, and the end of this predicament is round the corner. We will all celebrate a worthy victory very soon in Ondo State. Believe you me, many are just about waiting for the pronunciation in November (20th)? that Nabaruma’s ruling is upheld, our mandate returned, Agagu deposed (to face his corruption Nemesis); and a very worthy governance of Ondo State will commence. We all need to keep on praying and supporting Our Man Mimiko, now and in the future. He must deliver and we shall not allow any deterrent to his mission, not from foes, friends or family. We do not want any negative story whatsoever of Mimiko’s clean and checkable track record. Big Brother is always watching all and sunder in Nigeria now and especially will watch the governance of Mimiko in Ondo State. No fears. From Perm Secs, to Commissioners to head of Parastatals, to Local Government Chairman to what have you, Big Brother will watch and they all must deliver and the people will not be failed. Anyone caught stealing, looting or engaging in bribery or corruption, will be named and shamed. People will just have to change by force from ojukokoro to itelorun in Ondo State. Right now we even have a higher calling in the man Mimiko. In some years from now, could be 4 or 8, we are seeing and supporting a contender for the seat of presidency in Nigeria. Mark my words. Oh I could go on and on stating facts on the virtues and integrity of Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko. All the mud that people try to sling at him will never stick but will backfire in the name of Jesus. We have seen this happening and it will carry on happening.

Now about Madam Waziri. We leave her to God. No one can fool God, and the people are not being fooled. God will expose any evil hidden agenda in her and any of the EFCC guys or dolls who believe they can pull a wool over the eyes of the people. OBJ will be investigated. Agagu will be investigated. Many are already asking questions openly about the Ehindero, Ibori, Obasanjo Bello and ~Ettehgates. One by one, the house will be cleaned up. Takes time, for Rome was not built in a day. We must push on with our paper and pens and make our little ripples. My prayer is that our little efforts will have a Domino Effect and the wind of change will blow over all knooks and crannies, and IT SHALL BE WELL WITH NIGERIA, ONDO STATE, LABOUR PARTY, MIMIKO, MAHOGANY FORCE, AND ALL SUPPORTERS OF TRUTH, JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY in Jesus name. Peace :)

  12. omotayloron 29 Oct 2008 at 2:06 pm

    My questions for today are:

Is there anything wrong in the people wanting a leader of their choice?

Is there any problem with the removal of a corrupt impostor who no longer holds a valid mandate, i.e. the “borrowed/stolen” mandate?

Is there any wrong in asking for the implementation of true democracy in our dear Sunshine State or even Nigeria?

Well, if any of your answer is a “yes”, please tell me why?

    All remain blessed.

Governor Elect Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko, you are blessed and Ondo State will be blessed by you.

    Peace :)

  13. Iroko Kekere UKon 30 Oct 2008 at 8:34 am

There is no human being whose answer to the questions above will start with a letter ‘‘Y’’ talk less of adding the ‘‘e & s’’ otherwise, that person needs to be seriously examined mentally. If we Nigerians decided to change from military rule to democracy, then people’s choice for the seat of leadership must be respected and not be denied. The masses must be the one to choose whom they can entrust with leadership positions, not Obasanjo, INEC or any political godfather. People’s choice and values must be respected. Half baked democracy is the instrument of exploitation.

We need a true and total democracy in Nigeria in order to have a common vision of political arm of unity with equal worth for all, with no one cast aside and that will promote the policy of fairness and justice in our society. The systemic disorder which has damaged the mechanism of our progress and values are caused by fraudulently imposed corrupt leaders in Nigeria. Nigeria was a promising nation and a cynosure of other country’s eyes before and after the independence but unfortunately, the animals in flesh who call themselves leaders without moral principles brought the country down to the level where some of us now even prefer to live in exile as modern slaves. Nigeria is rich in values and natural resources for us do well and make a success of our lives.

That is why some of us are working tirelessly to support the Governor elect Dr. Mimiko to make Ondo State a proud State, where people can live happily along with their daily activities without any fear and to liberate our values from the corrupt dogma that has tarnished our country’s image both nationally and internationally.
LP is the party of the poor people of Ondo State who have been neglected by Agagu’s administration which cares only for his family and close relations, where Femi Agagu is the Chief of staff. This is the time for all the indigenes of Ondo State together with our friends who want this change, to come together to say enough is enough.

The primordial and a revival of classical based government that is about to happen very soon under the leadership of our Government Elect Dr. Mimiko is for those who put the people first and ready to work hard. For this is another dimension where the leaders will finally see themselves as servants and not mini gods who pushes the masses to the edge in order to crave for bates. The administration of Dr.Mimiko, the Governor elect is an all inclusive government which will welcome all with good ideas to transform our State. Room enough for all.

Let us support our Governor Elect to make our State and Nigeria a place where we can hold many aims in common, where we can build the opportunities for industry and employment for the future, where we will be able to tackle the division and inequality in our society, where we must develop and take modern basic necessities of life as priorities– sound education, good health services, good roads, constant water and electricity power supply, where we can create community that is safe (security), where mutual respect and tolerance are the order of the day, where we can care for and harness the fullest of our God-given rich resources for quality of life, where people can live together in harmony and realise their dreams and objectives. Above all, let us work together to achieve true democracy and make our society a place where the ordinary people will be valued by our political leaders.

In one of Dr. Mimiko’s interviews, he said ‘‘there is no question about the facts that when a good leader is in authority people will rejoice, but when the wicked rules the people will mourn.’’ All what the people want is a leader of their choice, the leader they voted en masse.
If democracy is a system of government in which power is vested in the people who are freely elected by votes, I therefore, believe there is nothing wrong with our demand for True Democracy. Also there is nothing wrong with our processes and the law as they have been laid down in black and white, but what needs to be exorcised is the spirit in some of our so called leaders who refused to make Justice a sacrosanct. The only solution that the court of appeal must consider in November is to give the people what they are asking for if we must safe our nascent democracy. As I always say and believe, God is in control. Justice 4all.

  14. omotayloron 30 Oct 2008 at 10:08 am

Iroko Kekere, wow, I mean WOW. I challenge anyone to put this better than you have done above. I flow with you all the way, word for word, idea for idea. You will forever be blessed. Please don’t ever change for people like you warm my heart and make me believe that this fight for true Democracy in Nigeria is not all lost. We will fight on and there will be justice for all. I have always wondered where your name Iroko Kekere came from. I have the answer now. You are really a chip off the old block, and to this I say to you —GBA SIBE JOOOO. Ati Iroko Nla, Ati Iroko Kekere, Iroko ni Iroko nje, Iroko si ni baba igi, Iroko ni baba won. I positively jealously want to be known from now on as IROKOBIRIN, so dont be surprised when you start seeing the name OMOTAYLORIROKOBIRIN.

Seriously speaking, Nigeria was set aside as a favoured country by God, but then, like the children of Israel who dont know the value of what God endowed them with, we make mistakes and incur the wrath of God. My prayer is that we come to our senses sooner than later and avoid unnecessary punishments and sufferings. Democracy is good and must be given a true chance. Anyone who shuns criticisms is not ready for growth. Anyone who muzzles the human horse is indeed downright evil. I still believe there are some areas of the Nigerian legislation that needs to be twigged or amended. Pardon me but I dont see any reason why Agagu should still remain on seat after he has been found guilty of election rigging and imposition. I believe he should have been given a suspension from government pending the outcome of his appeal and an interim person is put on seat pending. The true fear of most people in Ondo State now is that Agagu would have emptied the treasury before Mimiko takes over (there is no doubt that Agagu is a gonner and Mimiko is the winner next month). But then my answer to allay people’s fears are 1. Agagu will be held accountable and the State coffers will be audited and Agagu will regurgitate what he has swallowed in corruption. Second Mimiko being intelligent and frugal will still turn things around even if on a tight budget and even if austere measures are taken, it wont be forever. Mimiko with hi prioritising skills will know what projects to embark on first while lesser projects will follow. Even then, all the key areas of Mimiko’s well stated agenda will not suffer. Mimiko must be aware of the people around him and the sort of people he chooses to work with him. Some people get power drunk and Ondo State does not need such. Some people are wolves in sheep skins, and Mimiko does not need these. Some people would still want to engage in chop and quench and corruption (the human race right from when Lucifer was expelled from the heavens and unfortunately imposed on us on earth, will have to deal with evil ones), Labour Party will never want these. God hears and answers prayers and our prayers for an infallible Mimiko governance in Ondo State will be answered. All scoundrels beware. Room enough for all will not include rooms for power and money corrupt people who will yoken the ordinary human being.

Thanks Iroko kekere, for our simple wishes analysed in the 3 questions above will be granted by God. Hope we get more input to questions posed. We want to care and share on an ongoing basis on this site.

To Admin, may this site be live and never go blank for years and years to come. This site has been and will continue to be a most useful tool in our fight for freedom of speech, knowledge share, collective reasonings and above all TRUE DEMOCRACY in Ondo State and Nigeria in the name of God. All be blessed. Peace :)

Is this Agagu of a man for real? Does he ever try to listen to himself speak, oh I mean twist, deny and label all others except himself. Take time to read through the post below courtesy of Nigerian Guardian. Sometimes I just wonder if this is a case of being over or under intelligent. Why would EFCC have to chase unknown contractors? Why would EFCC have to witchhunt Agagu? At least it is not Nabaruma who is the head this time around but Waziri. Please give us a break Agagu. You sound like a broken record, and that record is so so so Old. Ondo State will soon change gear for the better and you Agagu will be the first casualty. Peace :)

Agagu may go to court over power probe report
    From Madu Onuorah (Abuja)

ONDO State governor, Olusegun Agagu yesterday hinted journalists in Abuja that he might go to court to clear his name over the House of Representatives Power probe report which indicted him.

Agagu, who served as Power and Steel Minister during the first tenure of the immediate past president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, alleged that the House committee maligned his person despite submitting evidence of what they had earlier requested for.

He spoke shortly after holding a meeting with President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Agagu: “I have not seen the original copy of the recommendations. I have only read them in the newspapers. But if what has been reported in the newspapers are correct, then I think those honourable gentlemen who wrote it should go and look at it again. The only issue they raised when I came gladly to speak with them was our discussion on how to move the power sector forward, not knowing it was all about witch-hunting.

“What I heard them hammering on was that contracts where awarded during my tenure to 31 companies that had no registration. If that happened, I told them to go and arrest people who were winning contracts without registration. And they said no, that I ought to have known that they were not registered. “A minister will carry all the documents of contractors who bid for a job and go to Corporate Affairs Commission and be checking if they are registered or not. “There is bureaucracy of officials and directors before a contract is awarded. It goes through the long process through the service. There is a Ministerial Tenders Board that actually goes through the contract. And what they do is to make a recommendation to a Minister who approves. To now expect that members will think a Governor has to go to Corporate Affairs to be checking registration of companies looks ridiculous.”

“The action I wanted to take, I have taken them in the sense that even though I insisted that it was not my responsibility to do so, I still sent people to get a list of the 31 companies, sent people to the Corporate Affairs Commission and they came back with valid and current registration certificates of all the 31 of them. And when members of this committee came to visit Ondo State and paid a courtesy call on me, I gave the chairman photocopies of all these 31 companies registration. Now for them to have received what they were asking for and still come out with recommendations then there is something else they are looking for and if they dare come out with such a report then my lawyers will get in touch with them.”

The governor yesterday commended President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for the Wednesday’s cabinet shake-up which saw 20 ministers relieved of their appointments, saying that it an indication that governance at the federal level would move at a faster pace henceforth.

He told journalists that having been in power for 18 months, the President is now in proper position to determine who he wants to work with based on their strengths and weaknesses.

Speaking on the changes in the Federal Executive Council, Agagu noted: “I think is the right step in the right direction. Mr. President came on board about 18 months ago. And many of the people who got to be on the first list of the ministers he had I am sure he never knew before. Eighteen months on the seat, he got to know most of the people working with him, and have known more people outside those working with him. This is the time to actually change gear and take out those people he thinks are not matching either in the same direction or as fast as he would want to march and bring in some tested hands he could recognise in the society. I expect that government will move faster after this.”

  19. Iroko Kekere UKon 01 Nov 2008 at 6:53 am

We have not seen anything yet from Agagu, just wait and see. He’s demoralised and frustrated. How can he think straight from these two years of hypertensive situation and sleepless nights Dr. Mimiko and LP have put him through. Omotaylor, you think this is a joke. Agagu cannot be the same again. He will surely cough out all he has swallowed patapata by the grace of Almighty God. Don’t forget he has other investigations yet to come- Nigerian Airways, the State N350 billion plus N36 billion he recently collected. Justice 4all.

  20. omotayloron 01 Nov 2008 at 11:16 am

Irokokekere, i beg to differ with you on just one small point. LP/Mimiko did not put Agagu through anything that he and his godfather OBJ and his cohorts of sycophants did not first put him through. You see in life, he who sets to bring about the destruction of others, especially well meaning innocent beings, will first and foremost be well and truly and utterly destroyed.

Power plays, greed, wickedness in high places and political mindplays without sensitivity are all templates to self destruction. Democracy is here to stay even in Nigeria/Ondo State, and this will slowly but surely win over the day. Every individual should be allowed to be exactly what God created them to be. If they turn out to lack in integrity and in the love of others, then they get their just desserts. You cannot bless whom God has cursed, while you cannot curse whom God has blessed (Balaam to Balak).

All human beings are endowed with the ability to know right from wrong. Who gives anybody the right to behave like our creator? This is why Agagu is a loser, for in allowing himself to be pushed to mandate stealing in addition to a history of corruption, he dug his own grave. He needed no further helping from LP, Mimiko or our dear people of Ondo State.

I sort of remember, all the time, Obama and his rise to glory and fame, (and hopefully his rise to the ~White House seat as the first Black President of USA). All those that tried to smear him fell by the way side, in droves. He is the most popular all time black man in USA as of today, and he is still going from strong to stronger. This is the story of His Excellency Dr Mimiko. His light has come to shine and he is definitely arising to his glory. Ondo State will have its broken fences mended by Mimiko and only the walls of Jericho sorrounding our Jerusalem will come tumbling down.

I pray that in your life, in my life and in the lives of all true, just and truly democratic people in and out of Ondo State, we shall continue to grow stronger and attain better heights. ~We shall all live to see our desires upon our enemies. Anybody who truly loves LP, Mimiko and the Truth, will from now attain or seek to attain the qualities of a good LEADER. Mimiko is worthy of emulation, in his patience, humility and fortitude. He stoops to conquer, and conquer Agagu he will. I for one, I stopped pitying the evil doers long time ago. Revelations 22; 11-12 sums this up nicely.

May we continue to uplift one another. May we all continue to serve dilligently. May we all continue to know our right from our left. And above all may we all continue to follow the two greatest commandments i.e. To love the Lord our God with all our strengths and To love our neighbours as ourselves. Amen and amen.

    Peace :)

I share with you all your views omotaylor. Take it from this end or that end, all the same. Let’s thank God as we always, for all that INEC, PDP, Agagu and OBJ planned for our Governor Elect and the people of Ondo State did not materialise. I believe God has a purpose, if not, the lives of the poor masses would have been re-mortgaged again by Agagu and the hopeless, unworthy and unprincipled gubernatorial candidates that Agagu’s thugs did not even allow to cast their own votes in their wards on the day of their elections, later shamefully decamped to PDP in order to satisfy their selfish interests. Our hopes would have been shattered again by these enemies of progress, useless sycophants and it would have been the same old story in our sunshine State. But God so good it did not go that way, we were lucky to have a diligent, decent, proficient, able, prodigious, reliable, experienced, dedicated, caring, trustworthy, vibrant, open minded, honest, eminent, passionate, brilliant, efficient, faithful, adorable, transparent, prestigious, erudite, responsible, energetic, dynamic, articulating, enthusiastic, indefatigable democratic and friend of the poor masses Dr. Mimiko. All these qualities led OBJ and Agagu to embrace unpleasant nature of evil attack on our Governor Elect in order to destroy his promising political future. Agagu is only ungrateful because Mimiko’s personality was used to get him into Alagbaka in 2003.All what God has for Mimiko will be positively and solidly established, at the same time the malice, hatred and jealousy will turnout to be for his good in Jesus name. As the masses always say, Mimiko is chosen by God Almighty, Agagu is bemused and unhinged by this. He who God love, no one can hate. Whatever that OBJ and the rest have put our Governor Elect and LP through were only for the glory of Almighty God to blossom on our man Iroko, his government and the poor people of Ondo State. The lord God has proved that He is the only one that has the Power over all power. Also that He God was the one that called and touched his beloved son Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to carry the light of hopes to lead us out of the thick darkness. Only a fool will say it is easy for the palm kernel to escape freely from the rat’s burrow. ‘‘God say touch not my anointed’’. But God’s purpose and promises will never go without fulfilment. As far as I am concerned, God has taken our State as special interest and He is in control. Mimiko is humble to God and he will overcome this battle again. We have seven days countdown to the start of another victory by the grace of our good God, Fasting and Prayers must start from now to the end of the appeal. We must not be discouraged by any intimidation or obstacle to continue fighting for freedom, true democracy and our stolen Alagbaka that Dr. Mimiko was rightfully voted en masse to occupy. Not by violence means but wisdom, patience, solidarity, and God’s continuous intervention as the word that symbolizes our spirits is non violence. There is joy and happiness at the end of this dark tunnel. Intimidations, frustrations and fake stories will be displayed as usual by Agagu’s agents as soon as the appeal starts but please no shaking, it is not new, we won when their dogs had teeth. Let us put our trust in Him (God) and be optimistic. Alagbaka is our by his grace, it’s only denied temporarily. This is God’s project and Justice will prevail. Two songs the Governor Elect always sing are as follows and can be very useful at this crucial time. KILO LE SE OLORUN MI, KILO LE SE and ESE IBI TETI BERE. Justice 4all.

O TI SE O BABA TI SE O
O TI SE O BABA TI SE O

Who says the White House is not the Black House? Obama has proved them wrong. So will Mimiko prove Agagu wrong in Jesus name. Amennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Mimiko joo, Alagbaka straight jaree.

  24. omotayloron 05 Nov 2008 at 7:15 am

My Bruv Iroko kekere, maybe we should for a win win situation call the White House “Black&White” house. Democracy won the day in the American polls. True Democracy shall win the day in Ondo State. We await our Mandate and pray that God averts bloodshed perpetuated by evil doers in Jesus name.

    Up Obama
    Up Mimiko
    Democracy yi gbasibeeee
    Mimiko o jareee.

    Peace :)

    My question for today:

Who can overturn what God has ratified?
    Talo le tu ise Oluwa?

    Peace :)

Oh, nobody, nobody, nobody can, it’s an impossible mission and whoever tries will live to witness the wrath of Almighty God.

  27. omotayloron 05 Nov 2008 at 3:20 pm

Martin Luther King, in his fight for Civil Rights said 45 years ago, “I have a dream”. This dream was to see a united America, where black boys/girls will hold hands with white boys/girls, and the wider picture this creates. Tucked away with his grandmother in Hawaii was a 2 year old boy, who at that time was still learning to talk properly. Unknown to all, this little insignificant boy, had the MARK OF GOD. He was destined to bring Martin Luther’s dream, and indeed the dream of the black race fighting for recognition and emancipation, to realisation. That little boy by name BARACK OBAMA even up until 2 years ago was unknown on the international scene. But you see, according to the book of Ecclasiastes 3 – EVERYTHING HAS A TIME:

1 “To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
    A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
    3 A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
    A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;
    4 A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
    A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance”;…

Today is God’s appointed time in the American history where the fight for justice and true democracy really starts to have a meaning. Today is God’s appointed day for OBAMA’s Light to truly “ARISE AND SHINE; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you”- Issaiah 60

I saw Rev Jesse Jackson’s tears. I was moved to tears of my own. For I was spiritually tsransported from the American streets, straight into the streets of my dear Ondo State, and prayed that in Ondo State, the American Story would be ours in our fight for democracy and justice.

What always stands out in a true Civil Rights fight is GODLY PATIENCE. If it wasn’t God’s own time and doing, OBAMA’s victory would not be so resounding, so worldwide accepted and not so all encompassing.

Already, Obama has chosen his Chief of Staff from the opposition party, the Republicans. Already, the world seems a better and less sinister place, and already, the forces, even the natural forces are witnessing what Jesus called “PEACE BE STILL”. This is the work of God.

The world acclaimed victory in America today will be transcribed as the Ondo State model in Jesus name. True Democracy for all. Mimiko was born under the same star (not astrological but spiritual), as the likes of Moses, Joshua, Joseph, Nelson Mandela, Obama. The dream of the people, the wish of the people for a government of the people, on behalf of the people, for the people in Ondo State WILL COME TO PASS.

Your Excellency Governor Elect Mimiko, I am sure you are learning from all this, and drawing strength and Godly wisdom daily as the might of God is daily unfolded in all that happens around you. Write it down, Agagu will have no choice but to come out openly and address the people as McCain did today. He will concede to the mighty force of God. He will be the first to speak up on your behalf. God will touch the hearts of stone and melt them, for we want a happy Ondo State just likeAmerica had today. Of course not everybody will be happy or agree with the result of your ratification as Governor and not just Governor-elect in Ondo State. Watch the Godly signs, hear the words from Palin, Bush, McCain, and many other worthy leaders worldwide.

Anyone who has true love for the people will admit defeat when all else has failed for them and will not resort to violence. You see my people, in violence, most of those that die or suffer are the INNOCENT PEOPLE. Violence does not get anybody anywhere. All babaric and wanton destruction of lives and properties must never be permitted in Ondo State. Nabaruma’s judgement was the voice of God, no one can change it. It was the voice of reason and the voice of truth.

One more thing I want to share today my dear people in Ondo State and Nigeria is this:

Obama’s campaign drew support from all over the world and especially in America. Millions of people, young and old, poor and rich, black and white, all sacrificed to make today’s history. From cents to dollars; from time to intellect, they all backed this worthy cause. Now is it possible for all these people to now hold Obama to ransom and demand contracts, positions, recognitions and what have you? Impossible. Obama has to do what he has to do in the best interest of Americans both on local, national and international scenes.

Likewise in Ondo State. Mimiko cannot be held captive with demands and requests for power, contract, positions, money etc. Whatever everybody puts in and sacrificed in this fight is well worth it, when in Ondo State under Mimiko we see GOOD GOVERNANCE. When the people are happy and content. Where the sufferings and groanings are reduced drastically. Where children and youths enjoy good education. Where lives are saved not lost in hospitals due to lack of health care etc. This is the legacy we should all aspire and perspire for, not that destructive and shameful legacy of fighting for positions and corruption, bribing, aiming to loot, blackmailing, intimidating and cajolling people who are trying their darned best to make things work. Enough of all these quest for absolute power that corrupts absolutely!

In the new Ondo State, according to our Governor-elect Dr Mimiko, there is room enough for all. Jesus said “In my father’s house there are many mansions there”. God’s given talents are not the same in every human beings, but everyone has something to contribute from their little private corners in this new dispensation. We must never allow politics of do or die to either surface or be practised in the new order in Ondo State, under LP and Mimiko.
“Our destiny is shaped”. There is no condemnation in God.

Because I know deep down in my heart that ever “…from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” – Matthew 11:12, I end today on a strong note:

Anybody born of man or woman, anybody male or female, young or old, who directly or indirectly frustrates the wishes of the people, who delays the glory of my dear Ondo State, who tries to tamper with the Godly new dispensation, which would be free of looting and corruption; who because of their quest for evil power, their death wish quest to become rich quick without working for their daily bread; and to the elevated sufferings of my people; anybody who forments trouble or calls for bloodshed; anybody who visits Babalawo or evil prophets or uses or even tries to use any ungodly means to make life difficult for either Mimiko, LP, all well meaning freedom fighters and for my dear people in Ondo State; by the grace of the almighty and living God, this will be their portion in life: Deuteronomy 28:

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
20 “The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings … even to verse 68 (please read) IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN.

Peace my people, peace. Today is a day of joy. May the devil not spoil our joy in Ondo State. Amen. :)

Omotaylor, to be honest, there is nothing that I can add to this meaningful, succinct and very rich message of yours above as it will result to a repetition. You have touched all areas that need touching breviloquently, compendiously, pertinently and precisely with your God–driven wisdom. Women of equal strength with men are rare and when one is spotted people will surely notice and rejoice. I can proudly say to you that ‘a Nigerian female star is born’. Keep your good work because I can see you in positions far, far up beyond your expectation. Like I have said before, ‘‘sky is the beginning of your blessings’’. I am very, very proud of you.

  29. omotayloron 06 Nov 2008 at 11:11 am

@Iroko kekere, ori mi wu, o develop… :) Thanks for the vote of confidence and I say a big amen to all your worthy prayers for me. Prayer is the key. Our Lord God will see us through. You shall be all what God says you will be in Jesus name. The gates of hell can never prevail against us in Jesus name. We shall all attain the highest heights of our glory.

I just cant get Ondo State out of my mind. This blatant abuse of power and treachery that was declared open by OBJ and carried on by his god son Agagu and their followers without conscience really gets to me. Sebi we have all seen how it is well and truly done by the Obama example, McCain being glorious in defeat and the acceptance of all to WORK TOGETHER for the good of their people. Why cant we have the same mentality in Nigeria and Ondo State. Why do we believe that bringing good people down is the way out. This reeks of inferiority complex, not being sure of oneself and of course an evil mind.

If for example we see someone doing good and better than us, what should we do? Slander the person? Block the person’s progress? Gather people to bring the person down? Well he or she who tries this in the new dispensation under our very worthy governor Dr Rahman Olusegum Mimiko WILL WOEFULLY FAIL. We all serve a living God. The solution to this sort of scenario is for us to DEVELOP ourselves, get training, get education or even learn from the good person, so that we can all develop and all live in harmony to the benefit of the people.

It is my prayer that under the new dispensation our worthy governor will choose people to serve under him while filled with the spirit of God. May the Lord God open our eyes to the evil around us and may we not let in anybody who has sold his or her soul to the devil. Obama will have to work with people that have ridiculed him while the campaign was on. He would have to rise above the RETALIATION spirit and just move on. So shall it be with IROKO and all well meaning leaders to be in Ondo State.

Iroko kekere, do you know there are hundreds of youths out there who desperately want to be mentored, tutored and prepared for a great future? We need to find a way to educate them. Many become hooligans or corrupt because that is what they see their leaders doing; because they have not been given the right opportunity to develop; because they are idle and not gainfully engaged. There is a lot we can all be doing for our people and God will enable and equip us all to do our best always. Above all God will spare our lives.

A ku eti igbo o. The good news will be out soon. It shall be good news. We see the signs of jitter bugs again from the side of the opposition and we know they know that they have nothing to prove and have only bluffed. We have stood firm and resolute in truth – yes Mimiko, LP and all well meaning people on this site, in Nigeria/Ondo State and in the Diaspora.

It is well. We keep our total trust in the living God and we pray on for one another and for our leader Dr Mimiko.

    Peace :)

    My questions for today are:

HE WHO POINTS ONE FINGER OUT AT ANOTHER PERSON, HOW MANY FINGERS DOES HE OR SHE POINT AT HIM/HERSELF?

Does what goes round really comes round?

CAN ONE TREE MAKE A FOREST?

    All be blessed. :)

One of the many reasons why Ondo State is in agony under Agagu. Please read on:

EFCC aborts disbursement of N1bn loan to Ondo politicians
By Alexandra Mede Snr Correspondent, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stopped the disbursement of N1 billion unsecured loan to politicians in Ondo State, it emerged on Wednesday.

The EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Femi Babafemi, said the Commission took the “preventive decision” after it received a petition from a concerned indigene of the state.

Two months ago in Akure, the EFCC picked up the state’s Accountant General, Folake Ogunnika, and quizzed her based on a petition alleging a plot to disburse the loan.

A week later, the Commissioner of Finance and three Directors in the ministry were also arrested.

The petition was lodged by Oladele Yusuf, who alleged that despite the ruling of the Ondo State Election Petitions Tribunal which annulled the election of Governor Segun Agagu, he approved the loan for his appointees.

Yusuf alleged that Agagu used the loan to bribe politicians in the event that he loses his appeal against the tribunal ruling.

He pleaded with the EFCC to ensure that the state’s funds are not mismanaged, saying he foresees a situation where the money would not be recovered if Agagu is eventually removed from office by the Court of Appeal.
